Fannie F.B. Porch, 85, of Peoria, passed away at 8:38 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011, at Clary Funeral Home, 428 West McClure Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Richard Sommer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Fannie was born in Barlow, KY on July 9, 1925, a daughter of Aussie and Katie (Ousley) Heady. She married Aaron Porch on August 12, 1939 in Peoria. They enjoyed over forty-five years of marriage, until he passed away on March 5, 1985 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children, Micheal Aaron Porch of Peoria, Sandra K. Thompson (fiancé Gary Owens, Sr.) of Peoria, Jeffrey L. (Denyce) Porch of Charlotte, NC and Adam R. Porch (Bradley Hamman) of Peoria; six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Fannie was a life member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Peoria and was formerly employed assisting children at the Peoria YWCA.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She loved “The Time of My Life” from Dirty Dancing and Saturday Night Fever ~ the movie, soundtrack…and John Travolta. Fannie never met a stranger.
